Radauti
Radauti is a town in Suceava County (historical region of Bucovina, Romania). Has a population of 27,759 inhabitants.
Today's territory of Radauti and its surroundings have been inhabited since prehistoric times. Forests offer included prehistoric human hunting, and water, especially the mesh region, were full of fish.
Local traditions talk about Prince, from which the city would have it's name: Radomirovţ. Another possibility would be that the names should come from Latin Rothacenum,, where the Romans after the conquest of Dacia, based here a strong and organized colony, or the third option: Radau comes from "Rada" meaning the village of joy.
After the founding of the Principality of Moldavia, settlement history is marked by Prince Bogdan choose from a strategic standpoint, the heart of its strength, Suceava Valley, where there were "Radomir's villages." Since 1359, coming quieter times, Prince Bogdan began embellishing his capital, based first in Baia. Instead of a wooden church, he built the Princely Church (Bogdana) with Metropolitan porch inside the shrine.
Progress in all branches of economy have created conditions favorable for the development of art. There were times during this period, lasting monuments of stone, which replaced the previous wooden.
